Dennis Gartman is the editor and publisher of The Gartman Letter, a daily commentary on the global capital markets, distributed to subscribers each business day. The letter addresses political, economic, and technical trends from both long-term and short-term perspectives. The subscribers include leading banks, brokerage firms, hedge funds, mutual funds, and energy and grain trading firms from around the world.

Mr. Gartman has been publishing The Gartman Letter, since 1987. Over the years, he has also conducted numerous presentations and courses on the capital markets and derivatives for various brokerage firms, central banks, and U.S. government entities. Recently, Mr. Gartman has been a frequent guest on leading financial television and radio networks. Prior to starting The Gartman Letter, Mr. Gartman was the Chief Financial Futures analyst for A.G. Becker & Company in Chicago, IL. Mr. Gartman was an independent member of the Chicago Board of Trade until 1984, trading in Treasury bond, Treasury note and GNMA futures contracts. In 1984, Mr. Gartman moved to Virginia to run the futures brokerage operation for the Sovran Bank.
